The vocal ensemble UngKlang is an artistic community consisting of 9 classically trained young women

UngKlang is a vocal ensemble consisting of 9 young women with a shared past in DR Pigekoret.

Since 2020, UngKlang has used their classically trained voices to challenge and break with the expectations and understanding of the range that vocal ensembles normally work within. UngKlang performs more traditional choir concerts, but has also sung with established Danish artists such as Kind Mod Kind and Coco O., made experimental dance theatre with SPRÆNG danseteater and performed a new Danish national anthem live in P3.

UngKlang's range and willingness to challenge the norm is also one of the reasons why UngKlang succeeds in getting choral music to resonate with a younger target group than what is traditionally seen.

UngKlang stems from a long-standing - for some lifelong - friendship that has been at the centre of the ensemble since its inception.

After their time in DR Pigekoret, the group wanted to create their own and rethink the classic girls' choir format. The choir girls became UngKlang, and since 2020, the group has established itself on the Danish art scene. The friendship is reflected in one of the most important tasks for UngKlang, namely to pass on the joy of music and making music together.

UngKlang works in many different directions, creating and performing their own concerts, entering into commercial and artistic collaborations and performing at official events.

UngKlang has performed with Kind mod Kind, JJ Paulo and Coco O, has appeared on DR and TV2 several times and has performed at Mærsk, Novo Nordisk, Dansk Erhverv, for the Royal Family and world-famous politicians.

UngKlang's biggest commercial success took place in the summer of 2022, when they accidentally sang for Barack Obama and went on to achieve viral success. A success that UngKlang has managed to live on, while maintaining the high musical quality.
