About UngKlang
UngKlang is a vocal ensemble consisting of 9 young women with a shared past in DR Girls Choir. Since 2020, they have used their classically trained voices to challenge and break expectations of what vocal music can and should be.
The ensemble performs both traditional choir concerts, but has made a name for itself by moving across genres and art forms. They have sung with established artists such as Child vs. Child and Coco O., created experimental dance theatre with SPRÆNG Dance Theatre and presented a new Danish national anthem live on P3. This range and willingness to challenge the norm is one of the reasons why UngKlang succeeds in making choral music resonate with a younger audience than traditionally seen.
UngKlang stems from a long-standing friendship, which is the artistic focal point. After their time in DR Pigekoret, the desire to create something new arose, and UngKlang was born. Since 2020, the group has established itself on the Danish art scene, culminating in 2025 with critically acclaimed concerts in their own name at Roskilde Festival and a sold out VEGA Store in connection with Women's Day.
The group's work goes in many directions - from their own concerts and commercial collaborations to performances at official events for organisations such as Maersk, Novo Nordisk, Danish Business, Royal Family and international politicians. In the summer of 2024, the choir received great recognition when they returned from the World Choir Games in New Zealand with two gold medals.
The group's big breakthrough came in the summer of 2022 when they accidentally sang for Barack Obama. The experience created viral awareness that UngKlang has managed to build on - all while maintaining the high musical quality at the core of everything they do.
